| dc.description | There is much to learn if, with regard to the attitude assumed by the United States in the South Atlantic conflict, the profound nature of the relations between that country and those of Latin America is analyzed. The time has certainly come to take a more mature and reasonable position. Beyond the value judgments that the current facts and circumstances may merit, it is very appropriate to explicitly take into account what has not changed or, presumably, will change in the coming years, along with what is actually being modified. With that end in mind, this paper briefly reviews the history of these relationships, with particular emphasis on the last decades. | en-US |
| dc.description | Hay mucho que aprender si, a propósito de la actitud asumida por Estados Unidos en el conflicto del Atlántico Sur, se analiza la naturaleza profunda de las relaciones entre ese país y los de América Latina. Ha llegado el momento, sin duda, de asumir una posición más madura y razonable. Más allá de los juicios de valor que puedan merecer los hechos y circunstancias presentes, resulta muy adecuado tomar explícitamente en cuenta lo que no ha cambiado ni, presumiblemente, cambiara en los próximos años, junto con lo que efectivamente se está modificando. Con ese fin en mente, en el presente trabajo se pasa una rápida revista a la historia de esas relaciones, con énfasis particular en las últimas décadas. | es-ES |
