| dc.description | A review of sociological questions raised by social mobility studies on the issues of inequality and the organization of stratification systems is made in this article. Data address situations that are paradoxical and do not always have a simple interpretation. Is more equitable a society with higher occupational mobility? Are privileges the reverse side of exclusion? What are the social levers of occupational mobility? How much consistency can be recognized amongst positions, culture and class formations? The paper aims at answering these questions dwelling both on original information and comparisons with other studies.Keywords: occupational mobility, social inequality, social classes. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo paso revista a las preguntas sociológicas que plantean los estudios de movilidad social a las temáticas de la desigualdad y la organización de los sistemas de estratificación. Los datos remiten a situaciones paradójicas, que no tienen siempre una interpretación sencilla. ¿Es más justa una sociedad donde hay más movilidad ocupacional? ¿Son los privilegios el reverso de la exclusión? ¿Cuáles son los soportes sociales de la movilidad ocupacional? ¿Cuánta consistencia es posible apreciar entre posiciones, cultura y formaciones de clase?
