Abstract
The aim of this article is to find the rational support behind the belief in the paranormal, by which it is possible to use great scientific devices like computers or smart phones to contact dead people. This is especially interesting, because in this case we are dealing with the fact that as the same way of Victorians, people use technical advances to strengthen their convictions on the existence of life beyond life. Unexpectedly, science has not undermined supernatural thought but it has served for reinforcing it. It looks like the more advanced the civilization the more possibilities it turns into the search of alternative and extravagant conceptions of the world.
