| dc.description | This paper intends to describe the role of the Catholic Church in the current social and cultural scenario of the 21st century in Chile. In this context and considering the reform process the Catholic Church is undergoing ad intra, the Orientaciones Pastorales 2014-2020 from the Chilean Episcopal Conference are reviewed. Conclusions show that a) the Church keeps its interest in influencing public space, particularly in social matters by using dialog, and b) that the Orientaciones Pastorales make only generic reference to problems associated with sexual moral, without expressing the public role the Church wants to play in these issues. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo pretende mostrar el papel que la Iglesia católica chilena se asigna en el actual escenario social y cultural del Chile del s. XXI. En ese contexto, y asumiendo el propio proceso de reforma que vive ad intra la Iglesia Católica, se revisan las Orientaciones Pastorales 2014-2020 de la Conferencia Episcopal de Chile. Se concluye que a) la Iglesia mantiene su interés en influir en el espacio público, especialmente en materias sociales mostrándose dialogante y b), que las Orientaciones solo hacen referencias genéricas a problemas vinculados a moral sexual, sin expresar el rol público que la Iglesia desea cumplir sobre estos temas. | es-ES |
