| dc.description | Pope Benedict XVI focuses his Social Encyclical on two topics: love and truth. There are four keys to understanding this from the standpoint of theology. The frst comes from the sense of the Encyclical itself: charity needs truth, and truth needs charity. This is basic. The second points to the Biblical source of the Encyclical: Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians, speaks of creating community in a responsible way. That community, today, is a global one. The third key presents Christian and human life with all its concerns as a vocation. And the fourth complements the former when it speaks of a gift freely given. These four keys allow one to get a deeper understanding of the Encyclical and of the ideas of Benedict XVI. | en-US |
| dc.description | El Papa Benedicto XVI centra su encíclica social en dos temas: el amor y la verdad. Se presenta cuatro claves de lectura desde la teología. La primera viene del sentido mismo de la encíclica: la caridad necesidad de la verdad y recíprocamente, la verdad de la caridad. Esta clave es fundamental. La segunda indica la fuente bíblica de la encíclica: Pablo, en su carta a los Efesios, habla de formar la comunidad de manera responsable. La comunidad, hoy, es el mundo global. La tercera clave presenta la vida cristiana y humana con sus quehaceres como una vocación. Y la cuarta complementa la anterior hablando del don y de la gratuidad.
