On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Vatican Council II, this article recalls some landmarks of the elaboration of the Dogmatic Constitution about the Church, Lumen Gentium. This memory’s work is to show the actuality of the main guidelines of this Constitution about the being and the mission of the Church in our context today.Con ocasión de la celebración de los 50 años del inicio del Concilio Vaticano II, este artículo recuerda alguna de las etapas de la elaboración de la Constitución dogmática sobre la Iglesia Lumen Gentium. Este “trabajo de memoria” es para presentar la actualidad de sus principales líneas de reflexión sobre el ser y misión de la Iglesia en nuestro contexto hoy.
