| dc.description | From the fundamental contents of the “Lumen Gentium” of the Second Vatican Council the church is defined as a mystery. This mystery is founded in the People of God made up of consecrated and lay people. Both are called to form a part of the new People of God. The new People are from all races and each one collaborates with their own gifts. All are called to sainthood and are going to heaven. With this eschatological dimension the reality of the Church is not exhausted here on earth. The Holy Virgin is already enjoying this situation. On the other hand the document refers particularly to lay people, the faithful incorporated by baptism and made into kings, priests and prophets. They have a secular character given that they must carry out their work in such a way as to contribute to the sanctification of the world. | dc.description | Entre los contenidos fundamentales a destacar en la Constitución ‘Lumen Gentium’ del Concilio Vaticano II, se puede mencionar que la Iglesia es un misterio. Este misterio se concreta en el Pueblo de Dios constituido por consagrados y laicos. Ambos están llamados a formar parte del nuevo Pueblo de Dios, El nuevo pueblo está presente en todas las razas y cada uno colabora con sus dones propios. Todos están llamados a la santidad y van camino al cielo. Con esta dimensión escatológica, la realidad de la Iglesia no se agota aquí en la tierra. Quien ya está gozando de esa situación es la Santísima Virgen. Por otra parte el documento habla en forma particular de los laicos, fieles incorporados por el bautismo y, constituidos en reyes, sacerdotes y profetas. Tienen carácter secular ya que deben desempeñar sus tareas de manera que contribuyan a la santificación del mundo. Por su testimonio están llamados a hacer presente a Jesucristo en medio de las realidades temporales. | es-ES |
