The cinematographic work of Raul Ruiz, filmmaker, writer, playwright and stage designer, chilean exiled in France since the late 70's and deceased in 2011, at first sight not appear as a political work. Usually classified with the labels of "neosurrealistic" or "fantasy film", his work, since not refer to a specific and identifiable reality from the positivist sociology standpoint, will have not most interest to analyze and think what the political "emergency" of our times requires. However, from a philosophical analysis of what the political demise implies for the thinking of the community, of the event and the History, analysis that mark the question of spectrality as the key for the understanding what was then (not) occurs, this work - which dilutes all limit between the real and the unreal - appear as one of the most important of our time.La obra cinematográfica de Raúl Ruiz, cineasta, escritor, dramaturgo y escenógrafo chileno exiliado en Francia desde fines de los años 70′, y fallecido el año 2011, no aparece a primera vista como una obra política. Habitualmente clasificada dentro del rótulo “cine fantástico” o “neosurrealista”, esta obra, al no remitir a una realidad concreta y determinable desde criterios propios a la sociología positivista, no tendría mayor interés para analizar y pensar lo que la “urgencia” política de nuestro tiempo obliga. Sin embargo, a partir de un análisis filosófico de lo que la desaparición política implica para un pensamiento de la comunidad, del acontecimiento y de la historia, análisis que habrá de señalar la cuestión de la espectralidad como la clave de lectura de lo que entonces (no) acontece, esta obra -que diluye todo límite entre lo real y lo irreal- aparecerá como una de las más importantes de nuestro tiempo.
