dc.description	This paper delves into the spatial, material and social conditions suggested by the urbanism and architecture of the Modern Movement, as well as in the effect that modernity has had on the habitat taking the film Playtime (Tati, 1967) as a source of analysis. The paper reviews the enthusiastic image of urban modernism presented by the cinema of the 1920s, the principles of CIAM and the International Style in the light of the systematic criticism the film exerted on a modernity that based its program on the abstraction of space and human activities. The paper situates the film and its author within the most radical criticism of positivism that denounced the transformation of architecture into an instrument of consumption. It can be concluded that fifty years after its premiere, Playtime remains a relevant cinematic document to think about the transformations of the city and the consolidation of new socio-spatial rationales that show the increasingly difficult adaptation between architecture and society in contemporary times too.	en-US
dc.description	A través del análisis de la película Playtime (Tati, 1967), el artículo profundiza en las condiciones espaciales, materiales y sociales propuestas por el urbanismo y la arquitectura del Movimiento Moderno; así como en el efecto que dicha modernidad ha tenido en el hábitat. Contrasta la imagen entusiasta con que el cine de los años veinte presentaba la modernidad urbana y revisa los postulados del CIAM y el Estilo Internacional a la luz de la crítica sistemática ejercida en la película a esa modernidad que fundamentó su programa en la abstracción del espacio y las actividades humanas. El texto sitúa el filme y a su autor dentro de la crítica más radical al positivismo, que denunciaba la trasformación de la arquitectura en instrumento de consumo. Concluye que, pasados cincuenta años de su estreno, Playtime se presenta como un documento cinemático pertinente para pensar las transformaciones de la ciudad y el posicionamiento de nuevas lógicas socioespaciales que también en la contemporaneidad evidencian la cada vez más difícil adecuación entre arquitectura y sociedad.	es-ES
