| dc.description | El artículo presenta resultados de un estudio reciente del mapuzugun en el sur de Chile. La investigación se basó en encuestas y estuvo dirigida a establecer la distribución de algunos de los rasgos sociolingüísticos principales del bilingüismo mapuche-castellano actual en la comunidad étnica mapuche. Se presenta información resultante de mediciones directas e indirectas, referidas a la distribución del monolingüismo y bilingüismo mapuche y los tipos y niveles de competencia con la lengua vernácula, así como la variación intergeneracional, residencial y espacial de los bilingües indígenas. Se discuten los resultados alcanzados y se proponen líneas de interpretación acerca de la vitalidad y la dinámica de la lengua vernácula.Palabras claves: Sur de Chile, Lengua Mapuche, Bilingüismo, Vitalidad Lingüística, Desplazamiento Lingüístico. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This article presents results of recent research on mapuzungun in Southern Chile. The investigation was based on surveys. Its basic aim was to establish the geographical distribution of some of the main sociolinguistic traits of currentday mapuche-spanish bilinguism within the Mapuche ethnic community. We present information coming both from direct and indirect measurements of the distribution of Mapuche monolinguism and bilinguism and the types and levels of competence with the vernacular tongue. So also, we analyze intergenerational, residential and spatial variability within the bilingual indigenous population. We discuss our results and propose interpretations on the vitality and dynamic nature of the vernacular tongue.Key words: Mapuche Language, Southern Chile, Bilingualism, Linguistic Vitality, Linguistic Displacement. | en-US |
