| dc.description | This article aims to analyze the political participation of JoaquinFernandez de Leiva and Miguel Riesco in the Cortes deCadiz during 1810 – 1813, beyond the links that can be establishedbetween the Capitanía General de Chile and the 1812Constitution. Their activity in the Cortes shows clearly theirdeep knowledge about the American reality and the liberalideas of that period.
