This article aims to contribute to the study of the elections through which heads of Spanish families elected their representatives in the Francoist city councils between 1948 and 1973. To achieve this, the article focuses on the role played by the Spanish single party, FET-JONS, in the organization of such elections. The paper seeks to delve into this matter from two perspectives. On the one hand, it assesses the effectiveness of FET in accomplishing its role in the organization and implementation of the aforementioned elections. On the other hand, it analyses how those elections influenced the configuration of the political culture of a part of the FET-JONS members. To develop all these aspects we use an approach that combines the political science contributions to the study of elections in dictatorships, as well as the possibilities which local history offers to unravel historical problems of a global nature.Keywords: elections, dictatorships, Francoism, FETJONS, fascism.El presente artículo pretende contribuir al estudio de un aspecto tan poco conocido del franquismo como las elecciones por el tercio de representación familiar que organizó dicha dictadura entre 1948 y 1973, centrándose en el papel que representó el partido único español, FET-JONS en su organización. El trabajo pretende profundizar en este asunto desde dos perspectivas. La efectividad con la que FET desarrolló su cometido en la organización y puesta en marcha de los citados comicios, y el lugar que los mismos ocuparon en la conformación y desarrollo de la cultura política de una parte del falangismo. Para desarrollar todos estos aspectos se utiliza enfoque que combina las aportaciones de la ciencia política al estudio de las elecciones en dictaduras y las posibilidades que ofrece la historia local para desentrañar problemas históricos de carácter global.Palabras clave: elecciones, dictaduras, franquismo, FETJONS, fascismo.
