| dc.description | Objectives: The objective of this study is that of exploring the subjective experience of sickness of diabetics. Methods: The qualitative methodology of research was chosen, and the qualitative interview as an instrument. Results: Among the main findings of this study is the fact that diabetics who have achieved to live their ailment normally, have networks of social support (the family and other diabetics), as well as health institutions that keep them informed about their ailment. The non non normalized types of sickness experiences were also explored, referring to the way in which these patients cope with diabetis in their daily life. | en-US |
| dc.description | Su objetivo es explorar en la experiencia subjetiva de enfermedad y el modelo explicatorio de enfermedad que tienen los diabéticos. Se optó por la metodología de investigación cualitativa y la entrevista cualitativa como instrumento. Entre los principales hallazgos de este estudio está el hecho que los diabéticos que han logrado vivir con normalidad su enfermedad son quienes cuentan con redes de apoyo social (la familia y otros diabéticos), así como de instancias de salud que los mantienen informados sobre su enfermedad. También se conoció sobre dos tipos de experiencia de enfermedad, la normalizada y la no normalizada, referida a la manera en que se convive con la diabetes en la cotidianidad. | es-ES |
