| dc.description | Los ataques terroristas del 11-S llevaron a que Estados Unidos emprendiera la denominada ‘guerra contra el terrorismo’. Esta respuesta estadounidense fue de carácter unilateral y evitó los debates y el apoyo de las instituciones internacionales multilaterales, provocando incertidumbre a nivel local y mundial. Naciones Unidas ha sido la organización que se ha visto más afectada con este nuevo escenario, ya que demostró su debilidad e incapacidad de acción. Las críticas a esta institución surgen tanto de los Estados Unidos como del mundo islámico y apuntan a su ineficacia, su falta de legitimidad y de liderazgo, lo que ha llevado a sugerir que para superar la crisis de la ONU se hacen necesarias reformas a su organización y funcionamiento. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The 11-S attacks led the United States to undertake the so-called 'war against terrorism’. The U.S. response was unilateral and avoided the debates and the support of multilateral international institutions, causing local and global uncertainty. United Nations is the most affected organization with this new scenario, as it demonstrated its weakness and inability to act. Criticisms to this institution arise from the United States and also from the Islamic world and point to its inefficiency, lack of legitimacy and leadership. Some experts have suggested that reforms are necessary in United Nations organization and operation to overcome its crisis. | en-US |
