dc.description	This paper describes organizational issues addressed by seven companies in their attempt to introduce “LeanConstruction” practices and techniques in their organizations. Seven Chilean construction companies are currentlydeveloping a collaborative research and implementation effort to improve their competitiveness in the local an internationalmarket. These companies have committed to develop several activities together: a) The implementation of methods toidentify and reduce waste in construction projects, b) The development and implementation of a performance measuringsystem for internal and external benchmarking, and c) Implementation of the “Last Planner” concepts in their projectplanning systems. The paper provides an overview of the research and implementation activities and then focus onorganizational and management issues faced by the companies during this project. The organizational approach of each ofthe companies is described together with their successes and failures, in an early stage of the project. These findings arecompared with others reported in the literature in an effort to identify the ingredients of the most successful strategies.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo describe aspectos organizacionales desarrollados por siete empresas en su intento de introducir prácticas de“lean construction” en sus organizaciones. Siete empresas chilenas están actualmente desarrollando un esfuerzo deinvestigación e implementación colaborativa para incrementar su competitividad tanto en el mercado local comointernacional. Estas empresas se han comprometido ha desarrollar una serie de actividades de manera conjunta: a)Implementación de metodologías para identificar y reducir pérdidas en proyectos de construcción. b) Desarrollo eimplementación de un sistema de medición del desempeño para el desarrollo de un benchmarking (comparación entreempresas) interno y externo, y c) Implementación de conceptos del Sistema Last Planner (último planificador) en suproceso de planificación de proyectos. El artículo proporciona una mirada a la investigación e implementación para luegofocalizarse en los aspectos organizacionales y de administración que debieron enfrentar las empresas durante el desarrollode este proyecto. La forma de enfrentar organizacionalmente el trabajo por cada una de las empresas es descritoconjuntamente con sus éxitos y fracasos, en las etapas tempranas de este proyecto. Los elementos encontrados soncomparados con otros que se encuentran en la literatura en un esfuerzo por identificar los ingredientes de las estrategiasmás exitosas.	es-ES
