Taking as a starting point the recognition of the general duty of information within the framework of the Consumer Law, this article examines the state of the question of the duty to inform suppliers about consumer protection, addressing a broad spectrum of economic sectors that covers from the sphere of products that have a more or less restricted character, until reaching the sectors characterized by free access to goods and services, investigation emphasized in the normative recognition, the obligated subjects and the reasons that justify the duty to inform.Tomando como punto de partida el reconocimiento del deber general de información dentro del marco de la Ley del Consumidor, el presente artículo examina el estado de la cuestión del deber de informar de los proveedores en materia de protección a los consumidores, abordando un amplio espectro de sectores económicos que abarca desde la esfera de los productos que poseen un carácter más o menos restringido, hasta llegar a los sectores caracterizados por el libre acceso a los bienes y servicios, investigación enfatizada en el reconocimiento normativo, los sujetos obligados y las razones que justifican el deber de informar.
