| dc.description | En los depositos epitermales del area El Dorado-Monserrat (Au-Ag), ubicados en el Macizo del Deseado, Argentina, se ha realizado un estudio geoquimico, a partir de muestras obtenidas en vetas y roca de caja. De los perfiles efectuados en las rocas encajantes, se desprende que los halos de distribucion de los elementos estudiados son muy irregulares, encontrandose en muchas ocasiones elevados contenidos en metales, debido a la presencia de pequenas vetillas portadoras de mineralizacion. De las dos areas estudiadas, la que presenta mayores contenidos en metales nobles es la de Monserrat. Alli se han analizado independientemente las vetas de cuarzo y baritina, determinandose que el Au se concentra en las estructuras cuarciferas, mientras que las bariticas se hallan enriquecidas en Ag. La mayor parte de los elementos posee una distribucion lognormal, con largas colas hacia los valores mas elevados. Tambien se han estudiado independientemente muestras con distintas texturas de cuarzo, resultando las texturas de reemplazo y maciza las mas ricas en Au y Ag, posiblemente, debido a la mayor temperatura de formacion con respecto a la textura bandeada. Las diferencias geoquimicas y texturales halladas entre ambas zonas, permiten postular un nivel diferente de exposicion, correspondiendo a Monserrat un emplazamiento mas profundo, donde se observan texturas de cuarzo de grano grueso, reemplazo de carbonatos, intercrecidos con pirita y adularia, coincidente con el nivel de precipitacion de los elementos nobles, mientras que El Dorado representa a niveles superficiales, con texturas de calcedonia maciza y de recristalizacion, con mayores contenidos de mercurio y ausencia de Au y Ag. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This paper is devoted to the geochemistry of lodes and host rocks from the El Dorado-Monserrat epithermal Au-Ag deposits. The distribution haloes of the studied metals show great variations as demonstrated by the coss-cut sections through the host rocks. An increase of contents was found in close relationship with the presence of narrow veinlets carrying ore minerals. The highest Au-Ag contents were found in the Monserrat area where quartz as well as barite veins were analyzed. The results allow to establish that the former ones are Au-enriched while the barite lodes have higher Ag grades. Most of the elements show a log normal distribution with long queues towards the highest values. Many samples with different quartz textures have also been studied, those with replacement and massive textures have higher Au-Ag contents that those with banded textures. The latter is possible due to the lower formation temperatures of the banded quartz. The geochemical and textural differences found between both areas suggest that they represent different exposition levels. Monserrat, where there are coarse-grained quartz textures and carbonate replacements intergrown with pyrite and adularia, is the deepest one, and it coincides with the precipitation level of the noble elements; El Dorado represents superficial levels, with massive chalcedony and recrystallization textures, with higher contents of Hg and lack of Au-Ag. | en-US |
