dc.descriptionThis study raises the need to introduce the theme of power, generally absent from the analysis of Continente Feliz as well as from other colonial texts of the XVII Century, an epoch which witnessed the transfer of power from sovereignty to the disciplinary. These terms should indicate that this approach originates in M. Foucault's thesis as expounded in Watch and Punish and in his Lives of Infamous Men.en-US
