This special issue aims to contribute to the discussion around biocitizenship given the transformations in the field of biomedicine in recent years and the increase of social conditions that would be making new forms of citizenship emerge. Effectively for some decades, the forms of social control and the articulation between biology, identity and modern institutions do not follow a stable and univocal path.Este número especial tiene como objetivo aportar a la discusión en torno a la biociudadanía dadas las transformaciones en el campo de la biomedicina en los últimos años y al acrecentamiento de las condiciones sociales que estarían haciendo emerger nuevas formas de ciudadanía. Efectivamente desde hace algunos decenios, las formas de control social y la articulación entre biología, identidad e instituciones modernas no siguen un camino estable y unívoco.
