This article deals with the students problematic when solving systems of linear equations with two variables by applying different resolution methods. Concerning the interpretation and use of the obtained results, it is identified that linear equations by themselves become an obstacle, because they make difficultthe comprehension of the foregoing. To overcome this obstacle, for the resolution of equation systems, the Raymond Duval’s theory of semiotic representations is proposed, because the complications of the register conversion operation are overlooked, without associating the related elements.Este trabajo gira en torno a la problemática que tienen los estudiantes al resolver sistemas de ecuaciones lineales con dos incógnitas aplicando diversos métodos de resolución. En cuanto a la interpretación y uso dado a los valores obtenidos, se identifica que las ecuaciones lineales por sí solas se transforman en obstáculo,ya que impiden la comprensión de lo antes mencionado. Para salvar este obstáculo, para resolver sistemas de ecuaciones se propone la teoría de representaciones semióticas de Raymond Duval, ya que se suelen pasar por alto las complicaciones de la operación de conversión de registros sin asociar los elementos que se relacionan.
