dc.descriptionObjective. To determine prevalence of negative stereotypes of oldness in health personnel. Material and methods. Cross-sectional study in hospital health personnel, included, doctors, residents, general nurses, auxiliary nurses, social workers and medical assistant. The sample size calculated with formula of percentage for finite population (192), distributed proportionally between the studied categories and to the interior of these it chose itself with a nonrandom technique. Sociodemographic variables were analyzed, the negative stereotype of the oldness was evaluated through CENVE questionnaire, using likert scale (very in discord, something in discord, something of agreement, very of agreement).Included health, motivationsocial, and character-personality factors. The statistical analysis included percentage, averages and confidence intervals. Resulted. Global evaluation stereotype negative prevalence was 65.0%; for health factor 64.5%; for motivational-social factor 60% and character-personality 64%. Conclusion. Negative stereotype prevalence of the oldness in health personnel is high, these is a problem because health professional is responsible for attention this group.es-ES
