| dc.description | "Manuscrito hallado en una botella" de Edgar Allan Poe y "La lluvia de fuego" de Leopoldo Lugones comparten la misma estructura narrativa: ambos relatos se configuran en torno a una situación en la cual lo habitual es radicalmente modificado por la irrupción de un poder que genera, en los personajes/narradores, una sensación de extrañamiento que deriva en horror. En ambos relatos, la sublimación se presenta como la única posibilidad de superación de este horror inmediato, y se manifiesta en dos actitudes básicas: la vivencia del horror como espectáculo; y la posibilidad de narrar la situación aterradora. Esta consideración sublime del horror es lo que habilita un posible vínculo entre estos dos cuentos y el tratado de Edmund Burke, Indagación filosófica sobre el origen de nuestras ideas acerca de lo sublime y de lo bello, así como también abre una nueva clave para precisar la influencia de Edgar Allan Poe en Leopoldo Lugones.
"Manuscript Found in a Bottle" by Poe, and "La Lluvia de Fuego" by Lugones share the same narrative structure: both narratives develop around a certain situation in which the habitual is radically modified by the irruption of a power generating, in the narrator personage, a feeling of estrangement deriving into horror. In both tales, sublimation is presented as the only possibility to overcome the immediate horror and is manifested in two basic altitudes: the life feeling of horror as spectade, and the possibility of narrating the fearsome. This sublime consideration of horror makes possible a link between these narratives and Edmund Burke 's treatise "A Philosophical Inquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and the Beauttiful", as well as a new key to the understanding of Poe's influence on Lugones. | es-ES |
