The paper tries to demonstrate that there is a necessary convergence between the ethical values in the philosophy of the educational reform and the guidelines of the educational project of any school with a state recognized curriculum. This linking is provided by the Fundamental Across the Curriculum Objectives which constitute the layout of the new national curricular organization. The Across the Curriculum Objectives are no only the ethical and anthropological basis of the national educational system and the school curriculum, as integral entities. They also legitimate and fundament the type of interventions that the educational reform is trying to enhance in teaching practice to create the necessary conditions for a new horizon in human education.  Thus, the new teaching rational which articulates knowledge and moral in the underlying Across the Curriculum Objectives gives sense to the educational reform and each of its programmes, reflecting the shared values which define the national identity, and the diversity of options which are possible in a plural democratic society.El artículo trata de demostrar que entre la filosofía que se transparenta en la Reforma Educativa y las grandes orientaciones del Proyecto Educativo de un establecimiento que imparte enseñanza con reconocimiento oficial, existe una necesaria y obligada convergencia de carácter ético-valórica.  Este punto de unión lo proveen los Objetivos Fundamentales Transversales de la nueva organización curricular de la enseñanza nacional.  Los Objetivos Transversales constituyen no sólo el soporte antropológico y ético del quehacer del sistema y la escuela considerados en su más vasta integralidad; también ellos son fundantes y legitimantes del tipo de intervenciones que procura la Reforma, en tanto creadora de las condiciones que hacen posible una práctica pedagógica orientada por un nuevo horizonte de formación humana.  En esta dirección, la nueva racionalidad pedagógica articulante de Saber y Moral que late en los Objetivos Transversales sirve tanto para revestir de sentido a la Reforma Educativa y a cada uno de los programas que la componen, como para subsumir en valores compartidos que definen la identidad nacional la diversidad de opciones que consagra el pluralismo propio de nuestro estilo de convivencia democrática.
