| dc.description | En este artículo se exploran los orígenes histórico-culturales de la docencia escolar chilena y el proceso de construcción de su profesionalismo. Se propone inicialmente un esquema evolutivo de la educación, en cuyo marco se ha desarrollado el oficio de enseñar. En relación con dicho esquema, se indaga sobre las correspondientes fases de la conformación del oficio docente y de las identidades respectivas, para finalizar con algunos planteamientos sobre las perspectivas futuras de la profesión. | dc.description | This paper explores the historic-cultural roots of Chilean school teaching, and theevolution process of its professionalism. To begin with, an evolutive framework ofeducation –where the teaching job has been developed– is proposed. The same framework is used to inquire about the corresponding historical phases and identities,namely; a non professional phase, a long “first professionalization” and a recentlyemerging “second professionalization” phase. Finally, some ideas on the futureperspectives of the teaching profession are discussed.Key words: teaching profession-school system history, teaching professionalizationdevelopment, teachers’ identity, Chile. | en-US |
