| dc.description | La atención es un estado de activación adecuado que permite a un individuo seleccionar la información que desea procesar con mayor prioridad y eficacia, así como controlar de forma voluntaria y consciente el comportamiento. El desarrollo de la atención dota al niño de los mecanismos necesarios para ejercer una mayor y más eficaz regulación de los pensamientos, emociones y acciones. Las funciones atencionales experimentan un enorme desarrollo durante los años preescolares, aunque el proceso de maduración continúa durante toda la infancia y adolescencia. Este desarrollo se sustenta en la maduración de estructuras cerebrales fundamentalmente frontoparietales. Estudios recientes en el campo de la neurociencia cognitiva revelan que el funcionamiento de estas redes neurales se ve afectado tanto por factores de tipo genético como por las experiencias tempranas y la educación. El conocimiento de los procesos cognitivos y mecanismos cerebrales que subyacen a la atención ayuda a elaborar estrategias educativas que optimizan el desarrollo de esta importante capacidad y promueven el ajuste socio-emocional de los niños y su capacidad de aprendizaje en el aula.http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/PEL.53.1.2016.3 | es-ES |
| dc.description | Attention is a state of activation that allows individuals to select the information to be processed with priority and efficacy, as well as to control behaviour in a voluntary and conscious way. The development of attention provides the child with the necessary mechanisms to exert a greater and more effective regulation of thoughts, emotions and actions. Attentional functions undergo an extraordinary development during the preschool years, although the developmental process continues throughout childhood and adolescence. The development of attention is supported by the maturation of frontoparietal brain structures. Research in the field of cognitive neuroscience has recently shown that the function of attention-related neural networks is influenced by both genetic factors and early experiences and education. Understanding cognitive processes and brain mechanisms underlying attention, has the potential to help designing educational strategies that optimize the development of this important capacity and promote children socio-emotional adjustment and their ability to learn at school.http://dx.doi.org/10.7764/PEL.53.1.2016.15 | en-US |
