| dc.description | El trabajo humano, más que un simple factor económico, es para el hombre un modo de ser y de vincularse a su medio; es “ser creador” para el español; es “criar la vida” para el aymara. La construcción del templo y la torre de Matilla, en 1718, con el trabajo forzudo de ambos: españoles y aymaras, marcó, no solo de un asentamiento humano fundado para la eternidad; también el nacimiento de una nueva humanidad y de una nueva cultura, mestiza, nortina, colonial. Este artículo es una reflexión filosófico- histórica que compara la visión andina del trabajo de aymaras tradicionales con el pensamiento occidental presente en aquel naciente pueblo desértico.

Human labor is more than a simple economic factor; it is a way of life and of environmental relationship; to the Spanish it is “being creator” and to the aymara it means “taking cara for life”. The construction of the Matilla church and tower, 1718, in painfull labor of both: Spanish and Aymara, actualy was not only the appearance of an new humen site “planned for eternity”; it was moreover a new born humanity and a new cultura: northen colonial mestizo. This essay is a reflexion in the history of labor philosiphy comparing the andean vision of labor in the traditional aymara community with western thinking about labour brought out in that new rasen spanish desert village.
