| dc.description | El autor parte del supuesto que las escuelas normales representan un paradigma en la educación chilena y, en cuanto tal, ejercieron una influencia específica y fundamental -a través del aula- sobre el desarrollo del país, desde su creación en 1842. Por tanto, este artículo adelanta conclusiones de un estudio sobre la influencia del mencionado paradigma en la comunidad andina de la actual provincia de Iquique-Chile.
Específicamente, analiza la labor pedagógica de 30 maestros normalistas, previo a la reforma educacional de diciembre de 1965, en precordillera y altiplano de dicha provincia.
Las 30 entrevistas a maestros normalistas, fueron realizadas a través de los proyectos Fondecyt 1960090 y DI-05 de la Universidad Arturo Prat. El análisis de esas entrevistas valora la labor docente del maestro normalista, reconociendo sus aportes y dejando de manifiesto sus errores y omisiones.

The author begins with a premise that “escuelas normales”, represented a paradigm in chilean education an as such, exerted a specific and fundamental influence -through classroom practice- over the years of the developing country since their creation in 1842. Therefore, this article presents conclusions in advance of study about the influence of such paradigm in the Andean community in the province of Iquique- Chile.
It specifically analizes the teaching practice of 30 teachers “normalistas” previous to the educational reform of december, 1965 in the pre-Andean (precordillera) and highplains area (altiplano) of this province.
The 30 interviews of teachers “normalistas” were carried out though research projects Fondecyt 1960090 and DI-05 of the Universidad Arturo Prat. The analysis of those interviews values the “normalista” teacher’s works by recognizing his contributionsand making both errors and shortcomings evident.
