Los conceptos de “Intercultura” o “Interculturalidad” son hoy de uso frecuente en el lenguaje de las publicaciones actuales sobre Antropología Educacional. Por lo tanto, no se halla aún bien definido su significado propio y sus alcances filosóficos y epistemológicos. Se apunta, pues, en este artículo, a delimitar más precisamente su objeto formal y, a la vez, a señalar su relación íntima causal con una Pedagogía auténticamente andina, para el caso de los grupos étnicos del Norte de Chile. Se postula aquí, en efecto, que no es posible llevar a efecto, como lo exige la Ley Indígena de 1993, una verdadera y auténtica “convivencia” entre el Estado Chileno y sus minorías étnicas, si no se da, simultáneamente, una Educación verdaderamente intercultural, es decir, respetuosa de sus valores, filosofía y cosmovisión indígenas, los que permean en la práctica, sus apreciaciones, motivaciones, aprendizajes y habilidades. El porvenir y supervivencia misma de la CONADI, como organización representativa de los grupos indígenas, se considera íntimamente ligado a la pronta y urgente, puesta en práctica de este sistema educacional requerido por la Ley Indígena. The concepts of “Interculture” or “Intercuhurality”are quite new in Educational Anthropology, and have been widely applied in Latin American Publications on the topic in the last 20 years. Therefore, its sense and epistemological or philosophical content have not yet been precisely defined.The article points out to fix and limit its formal object, and, at the sume time, to show its intimate causal relationship with a really Andean Pedagogics of the Present, taking finto account the ethnic groups of Northern Chile: Aymara and Atacameño. It is here sustained that it would be quite impossible to put finto effect the requirements of the Chilean Indian Law of 1993 (N° 19.953) demanding a “New DeaI” between Chilean State and its ethnic minorities, i f it is not translated in a genuine intercultural education in classroom.This new type of Education views towards a respectfui study and analysis of Indian Philosophy, Values andWeitanschauung expressed in myths, rites and celebrations which fully explain (not causally) their motivations, learning habits and habilities.The future persistance of the CONADI itself as a representative organization of Indian Groups, is seen here as strongly tied to a prompt application of this educational system postulated by Indian Law.
