| dc.description | This paper presents the results of the doctoral thesis 'Implications of a monocultural curricular model in the construction of the socio-cultural identity of mapuche pupils in the IXth region of Araucania.' (Quintriqueo 2007). The research argues that the kimches -wise people- and parents know the educational foundations, contents and aims for the training of people in mapuche knowledge. However, historically, the schooling of mapuche children has been based on western monocultural educational content by not making explicit both logics, the western and the mapuche, in education in schools, a socio-cognitive conflict in the construction of individual and socio-cultural identity is generated. The methodology employed is that of educational research, based on content analysis and theory foundations. The results permit the conceptualization of the implications of the school curriculum in the mapuche context, in the distance between the rationality of educational knowledge and the discourse of teachers as regards the use and knowledge of mapuche cultural patrimony in pedagogical practice. In addition, it allows the definition of an explicatory model to understand the processes of schooling and school curriculum in the mapuche context as a contribution to a model of dialogic and intercultural schooling. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo tiene por objeto comunicar los resultados de la tesis doctoral 'Implicancias de un modelo curricular monocultural en la construcción de la identidad sociocultural de alumnos/as mapuches de la IX Región de la araucania' (Quintriqueo 2007). La investigación sostiene que los kimches -personas sabias- y padres de familias conocen los fundamentos, contenidos y finalidades educativas, para la formación de persona en saberes y conocimientos mapuches. Sin embargo, históricamente, la escolarización de niños/as mapuches se ha realizado en base a contenidos educativos monoculturales occidentales. Al no explicitarse ambas lógicas de conocimientos, occidental y mapuche en la educación escolar, se genera un conflicto socio cognitivo en la construcción de la identidad individual y sociocultural. La metodología empleada es la investigación educativa, basada en el análisis de contenido y la teoría fundamentada. Los resultados permiten conceptualizar las implicancias del curriculum escolar en contexto mapuche, fundamentalmente en la distancia entre la racionalidad del conocimiento educativo y el discurso de los/las profesores/as sobre el uso y conocimiento del patrimonio cultural mapuche en prácticas pedagógicas. Además, permite la definición de un modelo explicatorio para comprender procesos de escolarización y el curriculum escolar en contexto mapuche como un aporte hacia un modelo de escolarización dialógico e intercultural. | es-ES |
