dc.descriptionThis paper emphasizes low quality of the present elementary algebra education and shows the feasibility of its renovation sustained in the Didactics as base discipline. In this context, it describes the support offered to two teachers on the lessons preparation and management that favor their students higher order thinking and deep understanding of elementary algebra, according to curricular goals. The paper ends with the characterization of the effect of the strategy to support students learning, and the description of the effect of the experience in the teachers perception about the improvement of their abilities and knowledge in the Didactics of elementary algebra.  en-US
dc.descriptionEste escrito destaca la baja calidad de la enseñanza actual del álgebra elemental y muestra la factibilidad de su renovación sustentada en la didáctica como disciplina de base. En ese contexto, describe el apoyo otorgado a dos profesoras en la preparación y conducción de actividades de clases que favorecen en sus alumnos el funcionamiento de un pensamiento de orden superior y una comprensión profunda del álgebra elemental, conforme a las metas de los programas de estudio. El escrito finaliza con la caracterización del efecto de la estrategia de apoyo en el aprendizaje de los alumnos y la descripción del efecto de la experiencia en la percepción de las profesoras sobre el mejoramiento de sus habilidades y conocimientos en la didáctica del álgebra elemental.  es-ES
