dc.description	This article analyses some school and family risk factors that increase the possibility of failure at school. It is suggested that in order to improve children’s chance for a better performance at school, parents of low –income status– should assist the learning process of their children. At the same time, through the development of the «objetivos transversales» it is possible to create at school protective factors that allow a normal development helping students to achieve a good school performance.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo analiza algunos factores escolares y familiares que aumentan el riesgo estudiantil de bajo rendimiento y de fracaso en la escuela. Plantea que es imprescindible –especialmente para aquellos alumnos provenientes de familias de bajo nivel socioconómico y cultural– la incorporación de los padres en la adquisición de aprendizajes de sus hijos. Asimismo, expone que, mediante el desarrollo de los objetivos transversales, es posible crear en la escuela factores protectores para un adecuado desarrollo del alumno, lo que favorece el rendimiento escolar. Ambas acciones efectuadas en forma simultánea pueden favorecer el éxito académico de los alumnos.	es-ES
