| dc.description | The declaration of Bolonia of 1999 recognizes that knowledge is a factor of social and human growth “capable of giving its citizens the necessary competence to face the challenges of the new millennium, together with a conscience of sharing of values and belonging to a social and cultural space” (UNESCO, 1999). In accordance with this declaration, the School of Hotel Management and Tourism of the Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) created a system of academic management for the formation of the professional profile of the degree tracks of Ecotourism, National Tour Guiding, and Hospitality Management, we kept in mind the mission and vision of the Catholic University of Ecuador, whose central goal is that the students and future professionals are subjected to change, committed to the development of the human being (reduction of poverty) and his environment, favoring sustainable tourism. We also kept in mind job competition identified by different social factors related to tourism and its services in Quito, Ecuador. The system of academic management is a group of interrelated phases and is designed with the goal of determining, developing, and evaluating the competence defined in the professional profile of each of the academic tracks. This system is made up of five phases: (1) Analysis of society´s needs, (2) Definition of professional profile by authority, (3) Transfer of necessities to academic curriculum, (4) Design of a classroom management system and development of authority, and (5) Design of an evaluation system. | en-US |
| dc.description | La declaración de Bolonia de 1999 reconoce que el conocimiento es un factor de crecimiento social y humano “capaz de dar a sus ciudadanos las competencias necesarias para afrontar los retos del nuevo milenio, junto con una conciencia de compartir valores y pertenencia a un espacio social y cultural (UNESCO, 1999). En concordancia con esta declaración, la Escuela de Turismo y Hospitalidad de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE) ha diseñado un Sistema Académico por Competencias para formación del perfil profesional del grado de Ingeniero en Ecoturismo y Guía Nacional, y del grado de Gestor Hotelero, que tenga en cuenta la misión y visión de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, cuyo principal objetivo es que estudiantes y futuros profesionales sean sujetos de cambio, comprometidos con el desarrollo del ser humano y su entorno, favoreciendo el desarrollo del turismo sostenible teniendo en cuenta los factores de competitividad laboral identificada por los distintos agentes sociales relacionados con el turismo y los servicios en Quito, Ecuador. El sistema de gestión académica es un grupo de fases interrelacionadas y se ha diseñado con el objetivo de determinar, en desarrollo, y evaluación de las competencias definidas en el perfil profesional de cada uno de los temas académicos. Este sistema se compone de cinco fases: (1) Análisis de las necesidades de la sociedad, (2) Definición del perfil profesional por la autoridad(3) Transferencia de las necesidades de currículo académico, (4) Diseño de un sistema de gestión del aula y el desarrollo de la autoridad, y (5) Diseño de un sistema de evaluación. | es-ES |
