dc.descriptionThe main goal of this research paper was the analysis of the labor performance of graduate students in tourism from Hoteleria y Turismo School at Universidad de Oriente. It based on the opinion of representatives of the private tourist industry from Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela. This research is descriptive, feld-study type. The information was collected through a survey that was applied to the representatives of the mentioned above. The data were organized according to absolute and percentage values. The results show that the employers consider that those graduate students in tourism are able to develop the duties pertinent to the job. The general opinion of the pollsters reveals the excellent performance of the graduates in their duties. It was also determined the lack of some competences, within the research function, such as economy aspects, design of information courses and campaigns to raise tourist awareness into formation, training and recycling functions.en-US
dc.descriptionSe analiza el desempeño laboral de los Licenciados en Turismo egresados de la Escuela de Hotelería y Turismo de la Universidad de Oriente según opinión de los representantes del sector empresarial turístico privado de la Isla de Margarita, Estado Nueva Esparta. Esta investigación es descriptiva de tipo de campo. La recolección de la información utilizó una encuesta aplicada a los representantes de dichas empresas. Los datos se organizaron según valores absolutos y porcentuales. Los resultados determinaron que: El sector empleador considera a estos Licenciados en Turismo como profesionales formados para desempeñar cargos inherentes a su profesión. El desempeño de los Licenciados en las empresas en opinión de los encuestados es excelente. Se determinó la deficiencia en algunas competencias, dentro de la función investigación, tales como las referidas al área económica y la de diseño de cursos de información y de concientización turística dentro de la función de formación, adiestramiento y reciclaje.es-ES
