The short story “La raya y el deseo”, by Pere Calders, functions as hypotext of Carme Riera's short story “Volver”, according to the own writer’s testimony, who declares to have had it as a model. This paper analyses the hypertextual relation between both works, paying attention basically on two aspects, besides the characterization of the type and system of the hypertextual relation: the reflection on the concept of reality and its codes of interpretation, as well as on the treatment of exile and identity.El cuento “La raya y el deseo”, de Pere Calders, funciona como hipotexto del cuento de Carme Riera “Volver”, según el testimonio de la propia escritora, que declara haberlo tenido como modelo. El presente artículo analiza la relación hipertextual entre ambas obras, con una atención centrada fundamentalmente en dos aspectos, además de la caracterización del tipo y régimen de la relación hipertextual: la reflexión sobre el concepto de realidad y sus códigos de interpretación, así como sobre el tratamiento del exilio y de la identidad.
