| dc.description | The article shows the criteria born in mind in the elaboration of the linguistic and ethnographic Atlas of Chile by regions (ALECH), whose first stage began the second semester of 1997. It is a national atlas by regions, and ethnographic too, made up by four similar regional maps, for which a differentiated questionnaire of about one thousand items was written. 217 locations were chosen, including rural, urban and seashore areas. Urban areas were treated differently methodologically. The information supplied by ALECH will explain many problems of the linguistic reality of Chile by means of the description and analysis of the Spanish spoken in this country, as well as its comparison with other varieties of Spanish spoken in Latin America. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo da a conocer los criterios que se tuvieron en cuenta para la elaboración del Atlas lingüístico y etnográfico de Chile por regiones (ALECH), cuya primera etapa de trabajo se inició el segundo semestre de 1997. Se trata de un Atlas nacional por regiones, y además etnográfico, constituido por cuatro atlas regionales coordinados, para el que se elaboró un cuestionario diferenciado de alrededor de un millar de ítemes. Fueron seleccionadas 217 localidades, entre rurales, marítimas y urbanas, dándoseles un tratamiento metodológico diferente a las encuestas realizadas en estas últimas. La información proporcionada por el Alech permitirá plantear y estudiar una serie de problemas que tenderán a esclarecer la realidad lingüística de Chile, a través de la descripción y análisis de conjunto del español hablado en este país, tanto como de su comparación con variedades hispanas de otras latitudes. | es-ES |
