| dc.description | This article will deal with Jesuit theatre and its particular method of instruction developed by this company in New Spain at the end of the 16th century (1574-1600). We propose to make a brief comparison between this educational resource and that developed by the Franciscans at the beginning of the conquest in this viceroyalty, specifically between 1531 and 1539, when the autos sacramentales had their peak in this territory. Likewise, another of the purposes of this text is to state that the educational method used by both religious orders had a particular characteristic: to respect the culture of the subjugated in order to integrate them into the educational practices carried out through the theatre of conversion. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo se abordará el teatro jesuita y su particular método de instrucción que desarrolló esta compañía en Nueva España a finales del siglo XVI (1574-1600). Nos proponemos realizar una breve comparación entre este recurso educativo y el desarrollado por los franciscanos en el comienzo de la conquista en este virreinato, específicamente entre 1531 y 1539, cuando los autos sacramentales vivieron su época de apogeo en este territorio. Asimismo, otro de los propósitos de este texto es plantear que el método educativo usado por ambas órdenes religiosas tenía una característica particular: respetar la cultura de los subyugados para integrarlos en las prácticas educativas realizadas por medio del teatro de conversión. | es-ES |
