The present work is about a notorious dual trend, observed today: on the one hand, considering that optimism, easy and goody laughter, even in the face of adversity, should be a desirable and enforceable attitude; on the other hand, a docile, selfcentered, egocentric spirituality. Both movements, in addition to leading an impressive merchandising industry, expressed in books, music, therapeutic products and workshops, leave the individual positioned outside of any political discussion or social activism; rather, they promote stoicism and self-centering. Both trends show the profound influence that neoliberalism has on the subjective constitution of individuals. Far from setting innocuous and inconsequential subjectivities, politically speaking, they mold subjects steady drunken of themselves, with a compulsion to be entrepreneurs of their selves, or some insipid beings of light and hyper-friendly managers of emotions, who, without major differences, can present a myopia concerning the social context that contains unrest and injustice.En el presente trabajo se aborda una notoria tendencia dual, observada en la actualidad: por un lado, considerar que el optimismo, la risa fácil y bonachona, incluso ante la adversidad, debiera ser una actitud deseable y exigible; por el otro, una espiritualidad dócil, auto centrada, egocéntrica. Ambos movimientos, además de conllevar una impresionante industria de merchandising, expresada en libros, música, productos terapéuticos y talleres, dejan posicionado al individuo fuera de toda discusión política o de activismo social; más bien promueven el estoicismo y el auto-centramiento. Ambas tendencias dan cuenta del profundo influjo que el neoliberalismo tiene en la constitución subjetiva de los individuos; lejos de configurar subjetividades inocuas e intrascendentes políticamente hablando, esculpen sujetos en una constante embriaguez de sí mismos, en una compulsión por ser emprendedores de su sí-mismo, o unos insípidos seres de luz e hiperamables gestionadores de emociones, quienes, sin mayores diferencias, pueden presentar una miopía al contexto social contenedor de malestar e injusticias.
