dc.descriptionEn este trabajo discutimos ciertos aspectos tafonómicos asociados a la formación del registro bioarqueológico del norte de la Isla de Tierra del Fuego, basándonos en el caso de la localidad Chorrillos (República Argentina). Se presenta también información cronológica, bioarqueológica e isotópica asociada a estos individuos. Enfatizamos el análisis de conjuntos que presentan un impacto elevado por procesos geológicos y/o antrópicos, que han producido una elevada descontextualización de los materiales. Proponemos que la aplicación de principios derivados de la tafonomía regional al registro óseo humano es una herramienta de enorme utilidad para la inclusión de este tipo de conjuntos en las discusiones arqueológicas regionales.es-ES
dc.descriptionIn this paper we evaluate taphonomic processes related to the formation of the bioarchaeological record on northern Tierra del Fuego. We present the analysis of materials from Chorrillos locality (Argentina), altogether with chronological, bioarchaeological and isotopic data. We emphasize the analysis of surface assemblages that have been highly affected by different geological and anthropic processes. Finally, we suggest that regional taphonomy provides a number of methodological tools of great utility for the understanding of this kind of assemblages, allowing their integration into general discussions of subsistence and patterns of land use.en-US
