This article addresses the question of the relationship of contemporary art with social exchange, beyond the relational practices of the 90s theorized by Nicolas Bourriaud in his book Relational Aesthetics, particularly with those dynamics that raise an idea of ​​community. The objective is to determine in what way the interactions between the subjects, and of these with their surroundings, are available to become a constitutive material of the artistic practice. In the same way, the current state of the community sense is approached in contexts of globalization, technological development and loss of the scales of reference, using as guide the reflections of the Chilean theorist  Sergio  Rojas. Finally,  using the  concept of work of  soft  edges and cultural ecologies of Reinaldo Laddaga and through the revision of some works by the Chilean artist Alfredo Jaar and the Spanish artist Santiago Sierra, the question is asked about the scope of the micropolitical strategy developed by Felix Guattari and Suely Rolnik for the action of art in the possible restoration of a scale that allows the symbolic reading of the world and the relationships that take place there.El presente artículo aborda la relación del arte contemporáneo con el intercambio social, más allá de las prácticas relacionales de los años 90 teorizadas por Nicolas Bourriaud en su libro Estética relacional, particularmente con aquellas dinámicas que levantan una idea de comunidad. El objetivo es determinar de qué manera las interacciones entre los sujetos, y de estos con su entorno, quedan disponibles para convertirse en material constitutivo de la práctica artística. De la misma forma, se aborda el estado actual del sentido comunitario en contextos de globalización, desarrollo tecnológico y pérdida de las escalas de referencia, utilizando como guía las reflexiones del teórico chileno Sergio Rojas. Por último, echando mano al concepto de obra de bordes blandos y de ecologías culturales de Reinaldo Laddaga mediante una revisión de obras del artista chileno Alfredo Jaar y del artista español Santiago Sierra, se plantea la pregunta por los alcances de la estrategia micropolítica desarrollada por Félix Guattari y Suely Rolnik para la acción del arte, en la posible restauración de una escala que permita la lectura simbólica del mundo y de las relaciones que ahí tienen lugar.
