ResumenSe tiene como objetivo presentar una breve revisión acerca de los efectos de la altura sobre el nivel del mar en el funcionamiento neuropsicológico y la adquisición de hitos motores en la infancia. Si bien, en el Perú, no hay datos objetivos para apoyar dicha afirmación, el razonamiento descrito aquí está de acuerdo con recientes hallazgos sobre la importancia funcional de los contextos biofísicos, que sugiere la presencia de alteraciones leves en el funcionamiento sensoperceptivo y psicomotor en condiciones de gran altitud.Palabras clave: altitud, neuropsicología, hipoxia, hitos motores. AbstractIt aims to present a brief review on the effects of  height above the sea level in neuropsychological functioning and the acquisition of motor milestones in children. While in Peru, there is no objective data to support such information, the reasoning described here is based on recent findings on the functional importance of the biophysical contexts that suggests the presence of slight alterations sensoperceptive functioning in high altitude conditions. Key words: altitude, neuroptychology, hypoxia, motor milestones.
