dc.description	We analyze central mythical material in the ideology of female mapuche textile masters and the initiation ritual that the aspirants to the title of textile master undertake. These myths refer to foundational mythical narratives that explain the key categories upon which the ideology of the female textile masters is built. The myth establishes the contextual and practical frame of the performative aspects of the ritual and the essential categorical system that every novice weaver must dominate. Likewise, textile initiation practices are coated by a thick aesthetics based in the spiders and women’s web; textures, colors, icons and folds that visually complement the meaning of the myths and rites.	en-US
dc.description	Analizamos material mítico central en la ideología de las maestras textileras y los ritos de iniciación al que son sometidas las aspirantes a maestras tejedoras mapuches. Tales mitos refieren a narrativas mitológicas fundacionales en relatos guardados por tejedoras consagradas, que explican las categoría basales sobre las que se construye su ideología, ya que, el mito establece el marco contextual y práctico tanto de los pasos performativos del ritual como del sistema categorial esencial que toda tejedora novata debe dominar. Las prácticas de la iniciación textil se recubren de una densa estética basada en el diseño de la tela de las arañas y de las mujeres; en texturas, colores, íconos y pliegues, cargados con significados de los mitos y ritos en una visualidad integral	es-ES
