dc.description	This paper explores the filmic trajectories experienced by the protagonists in two case studies: Lightning Over Water (1979) by Nicholas Ray and Wim Wenders, and Sick, The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1996) by Kirby Dick. In both films, the limitexperience, caused by a disease, becomes an active device, one that produces knowledge for the protagonists. In this radical experience, what is revealed is the link between selfrepresentation and a will to self-destruction, and the normative margins of rationality are questioned. Based on the studies of Jean-Luc Nancy, Jean Baudrillard and Clément Rosset, this essay examines an approach to terminal illness and self-representation both in the context of pain and the voyeuristic process of death as a spectacle.	en-US
dc.description	Este ensayo explora los recorridos fílmicos que viven los sujetos protagonistas a partir de dos casos de estudio: Lightning Over Water (1979), de Nicholas Ray y Wim Wenders, y Sick, The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1996), de Kirby Dick. En ambos films la experiencia límite, provocada por una enfermedad, se convierte en un dispositivo activo y generador de conocimiento para los protagonistas. En esta experiencia radical se pone de manifiesto el vínculo entre autorrepresentación y una voluntad de autodestrucción, y se interrogan los márgenes normativos de la racionalidad. A partir de los estudios de Jean-Luc Nancy, Jean Baudrillard y Clément Rosset, este artículo explora una lectura sobre la enfermedad terminal y la autorrepresentación tanto en el contexto del dolor como en el proceso voyeurístico de la muerte como espectáculo.	es-ES
