dc.descriptionThe invention of artifi cial perspective in the Renaissance constitutes one of the historical facts that has determined, to a greater extent, the Western predisposition to look for verisimilitude in the artistic representation. The twodimensional images that allowed appreciating an illusory third dimension made according to certain rules turned into a referential model of iconic construction. The following is a theoretical refl ection that aims, on the one hand, to study in depth the foundations of artifi cial perspective, mainly through León Battista Alberti, and on the other hand, to track down the connections between the discovery of artifi cial perspective and the interest to create images «the most similar to the original» in the beginnings of Photography.en-US
dc.descriptionLa invención de la perspectiva artifi cial en el Renacimiento constituye uno de los hechos históricos que han determinado en mayor medida la predisposición occidental a la búsqueda de la verosimilitud en la representación artística. Las imágenes bidimensionales que permitían apreciar una tercera dimensión ilusoria construida según ciertas reglas se convirtieron, a partir de entonces, en el modelo referencial de la construcción icónica. La siguiente es una refl exión teórica que tiene como objetivos, por una parte, profundizar en los fundamentos de la perspectiva artifi cial, sobre todo través de la figura de León Battista Alberti. Por otra, rastrear las conexiones entre el descubrimiento de la perspectiva artifi cial y el interés por crear imágenes «lo más parecidas al natural» que estuvo en el origen de la fotografíaes-ES
