| dc.description | This paper focuses on the body as a socio-historical category. Our essay will be based on the analysis of two works: Leon b. Alberti’s Treaty on Painting and Leonardo da Vinci’s Treaty on Painting, to show how both artists present the theory of resemblance between the micro (human body) and macro cosmos (environment) (or theory of the mimesis in heller’s view, The man of the renaissance) in conflict with a new, forthcoming vision.
