dc.description	This paper analyzes the construction of personal identity in Jorge Luis Borges’ poetics. It takes into account the ideas involved in his poetry, essays and prose, that do not always show coherence: the impossibilities of the self, the pantheistic approaches he uses in a highbrow game mode and, finally, the desire to attain a specific form of long-lasting and consistent personal identity, halfway between the firm denial of the self and the individualistic claim that is present in some of his work. This specific form is memory.	en-US
dc.description	El presente artículo aborda la construcción de la identidad personal en la poética de Jorge Luis Borges, teniendo en cuenta las ideas involucradas en su poesía, ensayos y prosa, no siempre coherentes entre sí: las imposibilidades del “yo”, los planteamientos panteístas que utiliza a modo de juego intelectual y, finalmente, la desiderata de una forma de perdurabilidad y consistencia de la identidad personal, a medio camino entre la negación decidida del yo y la afirmación individualista que tiñe algunos de sus textos. Esa forma es la memoria.	es-ES
