dc.description	This article explores the transformations that Chilean art music and popular music experimented during the 1960’s, considering the demands produced to the Chilean music by its social settings; the ways the new European influences were administrated; and the encounter between popular culture and the academy. To this effect, the cases of the art composers Juan Orrego Salas, Roberto Falabella, Sergio Ortega and Luis Advis, and of the popular musicians Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara and Quilapayún are considered. The article tries to define a Chilean plural identity through music, considering the artistic and popular musical expressions of the sixties, where both imitative and assimilative cultural practices, and synthetic and new cultural practices were expressed.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo explora las transformaciones experimentadas por la música docta y popular chilena en la década de 1960 considerando las demandas generadas por el entorno social, los modos de administración de las nuevas influencias europeas, y el encuentro entre la cultura popular y la academia. Para ello se revisan los casos de los compositores Juan Orrego Salas, Roberto Falabella, Sergio Ortega y Luis Advis, y de los músicos populares Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara y Quilapayún. Se busca definir una identidad plural del chileno a través de su música, considerando el cúmulo de manifestaciones doctas y populares vigentes en los años sesenta, en las que se expresan prácticas culturales tanto imitativas y asimilativas como sintéticas y renovadoras	es-ES
