| dc.description | The authors investigate the role of dreams in the artistic production of the Chilean painter Benito Rojo from a psycho-aesthetic perspective, which acknowledges the specificity of art as a way of approaching reality. This article is a preliminary report of a larger study t of visual artists which is intented to examine the bonds between life (wakefulness and dream), creative process and art work. For this purpose, indepth interviews were conducted and one of his paintings inspired on a dream was analysed. The results demonstrated that the artist's motivations, creative process and painting are intimately bound to each other as much as to his life history and personality features. | en-US |
| dc.description | Las autoras estudian el papel de los sueños en la producción artística del pintor chileno Benito Rojo a partir de una perspectiva psicoestética, que reconoce la especificidad del arte como una forma de aproximación a la realidad. Este artículo es un informe preliminar de una investigación más amplia sobre los artistas visuales en la cual se pretende examinar los vínculos entre la vida (vigilia y sueño), el proceso creativo y la obra. Con este fin se realizaron entrevistas de profundidad y se analizó una de sus creaciones inspirada en un sueño. Los resultados mostraron que las motivaciones, el proceso creativo y la pintura del artista están íntimamente ligados entre sí como a su historia de vida y características de personalidad. | es-ES |
