Here we ponder on what is the properly photographic thing and on the language quality of the photographic image. Such language condition is considered from the symbolic possibilities of photography, releasing this problem from the urgency of finding an equivalency between the structure of visual language and the structure of verbal language. Finally, we analyze the concept of language from the binding presence proposed by W. Benjamin, and the interpretation opening that this idea arises in the photographic image. Aquí se pretende reflexionar sobre lo propiamente fotográfico y sobre la calidad de lenguaje de la imagen fotográfica. Esta condición (de lenguaje) se considera desde las posibilidades simbólicas de la fotografía, descentrando este problema de la urgencia de encontrar una equivalencia entre la estructura del lenguaje visual y la estructura del lenguaje verbal. Finalmente se aborda la idea de lengua a partir de la presencia vinculante que propone W. Benjamin, y las aperturas de interpretación que esta idea levanta en la imagen fotográfica.
