The aim of the present work is to realize the hermeneutical analysis of symbolism: writing down slogans in the Lourdes Grot of Santiago. It tries to comprehend the meaning of these actions and criticize the general tendency, represented by the media, to interpret them as 'satanic graffiti'. Beyond those claims, it is necessary to pay attention to the challenge these actions pose to the media, to the pastoral action of the Catholic Church and to young people movements. El objetivo del presente trabajo es hacer el análisis hermenéutico de un simbolismo juvenil: rayar con consignas la Gruta de Lourdes de Santiago de Chile. Se intenta aprehender el sentido de estas acciones y criticar la opinión generalizada, representada en los medios de comunicación, de entenderlos como "rayados satánicos" Más allá de ese calificativo, es necesario atender al desafío que plantean estos hechos a los medios de comunicación, a la acción pastoral de la Iglesia Católica y a los movimientos juveniles.
