| dc.description | In this paper, the difficult moments and processes that parents and families of handicapped children have to go through are understood as phases related to the ones described by the traditional bereavement theory (Kubler – Ross, 1969). A model based in this conceptualization is described for working with these families, highlighting the psychologist’s role regarding holding and discovery of personal and familiar resources that may enable the family elaborate the situation. | en-US |
